Funding Alert: BharatRohan Raises $2.3 Mn in Pre-IPO Round

BharatRohan, an agritech firm focused on drone-based hyperspectral remote sensing, has raised $2.3 million in a pre-IPO round from the Villgro Innovation Foundation, Caspian, RevX, and Venture Garage.

According to a news statement from the company, the money will be utilized to create specialized edge-computing drones for accurate crop monitoring and variable pesticide delivery. Rural business owners can purchase these drones through franchise-based business models. The company also intends to build and develop multispectral and hyperspectral small drone sensors.

Founded in 2016 by Rishabh Choudhary and Amandeep Panwar, BharatRohan currently supports 50,000 farmers covering 2,00,000 acres in five states with its advanced drone-based decision support system (DSS), known as BharatRohan CropAssure.

BharatRohan plans to expand its operations and offerings in 15 Indian states, covering 10 lakh acres, by 2025. It claims to have grown, increasing revenue by 3x and profit by 200% from the last financial year.
